Designed for kids ages nursery to 5th Grade.
Church of the Outer Banks puts a very high priority on loving our children. We believe that our children are among the greatest of blessings.
We live this out in many ways, including equipping parents by showing them what it looks like to be God-honoring, Biblical leaders of their families. Our goal is to create and maintain a warm and dynamic atmosphere in which we point our kids to the truths of Jesus.
Our children’s ministry aims to partner with you as parents in the spiritual development of your children.

Sunday Morning Children’s Schedule
Check-In
When you arrive for our Sunday Worship Service make sure to find our Kid’s Church Check-In Station where someone can help you get your child signed up for the morning.
Nursery
Designed for babies and toddlers 3 months of age to 3 years of age, where they are provided a safe and welcoming environment to play and interact with other same-aged peers while parents enjoy the service.
KIDS WORSHIP
Each week, kids gather for joyful, high-energy worship as they learn about God together. After large group, they break into age-based small groups to explore the Bible story through discussion, hands-on activities, and fun games. Our goal is for every child to feel known, loved, and excited to grow in their faith.
THE BRIDGE
4th & 5th Grade Students
Bridge is designed especially for 4th–5th graders and serves as a stepping stone as they prepare to become part of Rooted Youth. Each Sunday, Bridge students worship alongside their families during the main service. During Take-Two, they gather in the Rotunda with their teachers and head to small groups to study scripture together and fellowship with each other.
Outside of Sunday mornings, we meet with our Bridge students once a month for fun outings. Please refer to the church calendar for our Bridge Fellowship dates.
ABOUT THE BRIDGEUpcoming Events
Need a night off? We’ve got you covered! Join us for Parents’ Night Out! Your children will enjoy a fun-filled evening just for the kids at Jumpmasters while you enjoy a couple of kid-free hours. Drop them off, relax, and let us take care of the fun! Dinner will be provided.
Meet Joana Houff
Children’s Director
Joana has 14 years of experience in Special Education and is now serving in Children’s Ministry, where she is passionate about introducing kids to the love of Jesus. She has been happily married to her husband Adam for 13 years, and together, they have two wonderful boys, James and Dean.
Joana is deeply committed to helping children grow in faith and purpose, and she finds great joy in being part of their spiritual journey.
