Men’s Ministry
We all need Godly men in our lives for a multitude of reasons. Our most immediate and highest priority is to engage and equip men to pursue Jesus Christ in community with other men.
Let Church of the OBX men be described as; “men after God’s own heart.”
“Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” Ecclesiastes 4:12 (NIV)
Men’s Challenge
Join the men of the church as we go on an expedition through Blackaby’s Experiencing God; Knowing and Doing the Will of God 12-week study. Groups begin to launch March 9th and beyond. The journey includes individual daily devotional time and weekly in-person meet-ups with other men on the same path.

You Matter
Here at the Church of the Outer Banks, Every Man Matters! Yes, I mean you. You really do matter!
Everything you do every single day of your life matters. I wish I had been told this long ago. As someone who came to know Christ later in life, for far too long, I did not truly know the impact of my actions and decisions.
You Make a Difference
Consequently, I have learned that there is simply no indifference in manhood. You and I are absolutely making a difference one way or another.
The question is, what kind of difference are we making? Are we having a positive effect on those things that have eternal significance? Undoubtedly, at some point in your life you will ask yourself some version of this question. Be prepared to have a good answer.
You are not alone!
The good news is you are not alone and you don’t have to do it by yourself-nor should you! By being in community with other men in pursuit of Jesus Christ, you can exponentially increase your probability of having winning seasons throughout your life.
Moreover, you can prevent losing when it matters most. I’ve experienced this in my own life, I’ve observed it in others, and it’s based on biblical truths. It seems too simple but it is amazing what God does when you just show up to meet with other men in the name of Jesus.

Meet Kelly Chestnut
men’s Ministry Director
Having come to Christ later in life while putting his military career ahead of his family and marriage, Kelly vowed not to allow that to happen again by surrendering everything to Jesus and being fully devoted to his spouse Monique (who also served our country), and their three daughters, who now make a full quiver of 5 daughters.
Kelly’s transformation has come from other Godly men pouring their lives out for him during great difficulty, Kelly now has that same desire to serve the Church (body of Christ) by pouring into other men, who pour into men; making disciples and disciple-makers. He believes strongly, that healthy families are led by strong men who love their wives as Christ loves the church that is the bride of Christ.
He is passionate about loving men and loving others as Christ first loves him. Kelly and Monique are grateful for the opportunity to live and love the community in OBX.
